Sandra was overweight and was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. She’d tried dieting but never with any lasting success.
“I used to dread getting out of bed in the mornings, I wished I wouldn’t wake up. I felt like an old lady.”
Sandra was put on to medication to control her blood sugar levels and her doctor suggested that she tried regular exercise. Sandra agreed and started to take regular walks. She started with just a short 5 minute walk each day and increased it gradually.
As she has got fitter and lost weight her health has improved and as a result, her medication has been decreased. Sandra has more energy and and feels happier.
“Already I feel so much better and I’ve lost inches from my waist. I want to do more though so I’m working towards a new target of exercising for 300 minutes a week. It seems a lot but it isn’t that hard to do and I feel so much better. I look forward to the day now.”
