Linda’s weight increased gradually over a number of years. By the time she was 40 she was fed up and wanted to change.
“I was tired all the time, everything was hard work. I found it really hard to find clothes I liked, so I had stopped bothering with my appearance. I was miserable.”
She visited her doctor who told her she was obese. They had a chat about the options open to her, Linda decided to try exercise combined with improved diet.
She started walking everyday, and swimming once a week. Overtime she increased how much exercise she did. “It’s not that hard really, it’s about getting into new habits, I used to eat when I was bored, now I go and do some exercise, not that I get bored as much as I used to, there’s a lot more going on in my life.”
“I can’t believe how different I feel. Now I have no aches and pains anymore, and I take no tablets. I’ve even found a new man, he would never have looked at me as I used to be.”
