Jon had been feeling very down for a while. He went to see his doctor and was diagnosed with mild depression. The doctor suggested anti-depressants but Jon didn’t like the idea of taking tablets.
Instead, on his GP’s advice, Jon agreed to start regular exercise, something he used to do but had got out of the habit of doing. He decided the best way to fit exercise into his daily routine would be to cycle to work.
“It took a while, but I got better slowly, after a year I was back to normal. Even better I have carried on cycling to work so I’m fitter as well as happier, and better off!” Jon
Jon’s doctor signed him off after a year, he didn’t take any tablets and is now fully recovered.
