Gordon is 62 and has moderate COPD. He doesn’t like to go out as he gets shortness of breath. He’s doing less and less and is in a cycle of inactivity.
His doctor discussed this with him and helped him to understand that he needs to be active, and that activity will improve his symptoms. He referred Gordon to pulmonary rehabilitation classes.
“The classes were great, the best thing I’ve done. I’ve finally given up the cigs and I can walk twice as fast as I used to. I can’t believe I was so scared of exercise.”
